I am lost
and you are the city at night.
I could stumble around all day
breaking windows, picking locks.

I would sleep
but I can’t fall asleep here.

It gets warm
wherever you are.
It gets loud
but I try to be quiet.

It's hard to be quiet,
it's hard to be still;
when you're hard,

it's hard
to be still.

How do I sit still
with you,
eyes burning,
hands burning--

I can't sit still.

How do you sit still
with fire burning beneath you?

The streets are rife with chaos
and I can’t tell which way is up
but with your body, still,
next to mine,

I forget about getting out.
